Wildfire Resilience Investment Program

OEMR’s Wildfire Resilience Investment Program (WRIP) invests in projects so Idaho’s electric utilities can monitor, mitigate, and mobilize against disruptive wildfires. WRIP was launched in September 2025. In November 2025, OEMR awarded eight projects that are set to begin early 2026.

Installation of eight reclosers

Idaho Power Company 

Undergrounding of overhead distribution line

PacifiCorp 

Upgrading substation with SCADA-enabled breakers and relays

Lost River Electric Cooperative 

Vegetation management, installation of fire-resistant mesh wrap on distribution poles and installation of avian-deterrence devices

Clearwater Power Company 

Installation of fire-resistant wrap on distribution poles 

Northern Lights, Inc.  

Drone AI analysis and installation of 60 weather stations

Idaho County Light and Power
