The State of Idaho is actively seeking to attract nuclear energy developers and companies involved in the nuclear supply chain, to establish operations within the state. Idaho offers significant advantages including abundant clean energy resources, strategic geographic location, business-friendly regulatory environment, and strong workforce development programs. Through this Request for Information (RFI), the State seeks comprehensive input from industry leaders to better understand the factors that influence location decisions and to identify specific initiatives that would make Idaho the preferred destination for nuclear investments.
Specifically, this RFI seeks to:
- Identify key factors influencing site selection decisions
- Understand infrastructure requirements and preferences
- Assess regulatory and permitting considerations
- Evaluate workforce and talent needs
- Determine effective incentive structures
- Explore partnership opportunities with state agencies and institutions
- Gather input on potential barriers to investment
Responses are due by 5:00pm MT on December 12th, 2025. Interested companies should review the full RFI and submit responses electronically to comments@oer.idaho.gov with the subject line: “Request for Information – Nuclear Development Incentives.”
