Government Leading by Example

The Government Leading by Example (GLBE) Program will support rural governments in identifying and planning energy efficiency improvements in public facilities. By providing access to professional energy audits, dedicated follow-up assistance, and the creation of an actionable Energy Acton Plan (EAP), the program will serve as an educational tool to encourage participants to prioritize energy improvements in their local facilities.

Eligible applicants will receive an ASHRAE Level 1 Energy Audit at their building(s) and then have a discussion with the auditor and OEMR to fully understand the findings. This will prepare the applicant to then create an EAP, which OEMR is offering applicants up to $2,500 for a complete EAP. The EAP should identify priority projects and create a strategy for obtaining future funding for said projects.
