The Idaho Governor’s Office of Energy and Mineral Resources (OEMR) promotes cost-effective energy conservation programs and services for Idaho’s agricultural community. Agriculture is one of the largest industries in Idaho and a major portion of the state’s economy. The OEMR will assist farmers, animal production businesses, aquaculture and greenhouse facilities in locating resources available and assisting in implementing energy efficiency projects and alternative energy resources. Low interest energy loans are also available for qualifying projects.

- University of Idaho Agricultural Extension Service, which has information about efficient farm and ranch management, and the Center for Advanced Studies Bioenergy Group conducts research to advance the acceleration of anaerobic digesters on Idaho dairies.
- The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, which conducts research to develop and transfer solutions to agricultural problems of high national priority and provide information access and dissemination.
